Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitar artist. She was among the youngest and the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to play live on stage and also serve as a presenter at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is the Indian young sitar artist. She is a scholar and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. The first few years of her life were split in London in London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi at the tender age of 13. At the age of 13, she finished her high school education at Encinitas CA. Anouskha still has a promising performing and recording careers, even though she's young. Since quite some time, she has been performing regularly with her father. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. The following year, she released the Grammy nominated Live in Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at every major venue, she also has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka isn't just a musician. Bapi the The Love of My Live, a biographical picture written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. She also acted on the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. She played as a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity is expected to continue growing. Anoushka was raised in England however, she spent the majority of her youth split between London as well as Delhi. She then moved to California and went to the high school there. From the age of nine she began her studies in music under her father. She made her debut with the sitar four years later, at his birthday party in Delhi. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring across the globe with her dad. She played in Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. As a tribute to her status as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
